JOY: Anna Sitar
Joy to me is the idea of recovering and getting up from anything, with a smile still plastered on your face. The first person who pops into my head is Anna Sitar or annaxsitar on Tiktok. Her smile is contagious and makes me want to do handstands and backflips. All of her early followers saw her go through her best times and her worst times, some within days of each other, but even while she cried, she always smiled through it. That's my idea of joy, and she would make an awesome cast for joy in my head.
SADNESS: Andrew Garfield
The emotion Garfield shows in every one of his movies reaches a part of my soul that I never even knew I had in me. When I get sad, I get the type of sad that makes me want to scream at the top of my lungs, and Andrew Garfield relates and does something similar in his most heartbreaking scenes of his movies.
FEAR: Sarah Paulson
Not only is Paulson an amazing actress, she plays in a lot of movies that show a need to be scared if you were in her shoes. For example, in Run of 2020, she plays the mother of a child raised in complete isolation, while her child attempts to run away and roam free. The pure fear of the idea of your child running into a place you've never truly experienced is encaptivated in a different way than any other actor or actress I've seen. The fear in a lot of her faces and movies is how I could imagine my soul screaming in times I have truly been terrified.
ANGER: Gordon Ramsay
This one, to me, is a given. There is no other person I could ever imagine as anger in my head. When I think of myself getting angry, I think of burning hot passion fueling that anger. I always have a reason behind my anger, whether it's care, love, or fear, something is always backing my anger. I feel the same way about the anger that Chef Ramsay let's out. The food he serves in his own restaurant is undercooked- releasing anger. A student treats him as if they are on the same level- releasing obvious anger. All of Chef Ramsay's anger has a passion and a love and a simple respect for food, and my anger has a respect for people.
DISGUST: Janis Ian (Mean Girls character NOT ACTOR)
Mean Girls is a classic movie that every young girl falls in love with, and while the other little girls are falling in love with Aaron Samuels, I was falling in love with Janis. You've heard of a resting- you know what- face, but I would say Janis has a resting disgust face. Whenever I smell anything gross, I can just imagine "you smell like a baby prostitute", which is one of my favorite mean girls quote ever. Not only does she show disgust to people she doesn't like, but she shows disgust to her best friends, and that's the best thing about her. She is never fake with her disgust and I can relate to that.
